Information about the school
There are 32 teaching staff supported by 2 clerical, 4 technical and 7 caretaking and cleaning staff.
Our Year 11 students prepare for a wide range of GCSE and RSA examinations, and have the opportunity to gain the Certificate of Vocational Education. Approximately 75% of each Year 11 continue with their education at either the Grammar School or the College of Further Education.
The School has recently engaged in a very successful Validation in March 2007. The VSSE process was positive experience for our community, recognising achievement and celebrating the many successes of the School and its students.
Within the very many developments currently happening at St. Peter Port across the Island’s Schools, this School Improvement Plan highlights four areas for particular attention:
the increase in appropriate use of ICT to enhance teaching and learning;
the development of Assessment for Learning to enhance teaching and promote a positive learning ethos;
the investigation of an alternative delivery and content of KS3 and
improved tracking of student academic progress
Members of the Senior Management Team are responsible for the implementation of each of the Action Plans above.
