Decisions are yet to be made regarding the movement of equipment – a complicated process and no clarity yet – must make use of suitable books/equipment due to budget restraints - ongoing discussion.
Mr. Northrop asked whether the new school will have all new items.
Miss. Tetlaw replied that all the basic equipment would be new but other transferable serviceable items would be utilised (Smartboards and Computers will be moved from the existing school to the new school).

Lockers for everyone are being built into the alcoves along the corridors and will make for better security – they will be able to fit a large motor cycle helmet – there will be a deposit to pay for the keys.

The new school will take a maximum of 720 pupils with La Mare De Carteret and Les Beaucamps being slightly smaller (600’ish pupils) – all three schools will be able to offer a variety of subjects and are still small enough to become a community – a better option than being too large.

Black (no trainers), no stiletto heels or other shoes that could be dangerous.
Black pumps are handed out to those who have forgotten their shoes.
Medical notes are required for those not in shoes.

A sensible length but not long and flowing – trousers are mainly worn.
Letters are to be sent out to Year 9 parents re the September start with a summary of the uniform.
KS3 pupils will wear White polo shirts, black sweatshirt with new logo, black trousers, black shoes.
KS4 pupils will wear Cerise polo shirts, black sweatshirt with new logo, black trousers, black shoes. A 3-year cycle will be in place before the colour of the polo shirts change.
PE kit has only just been decided: Black polo tops with a new logo, black shorts, black socks.
No tailored shorts or culottes to be worn as part of the uniform.
Various suppliers are: Sarsew, Ego Motifs, Shoestring, Central Sports, Fletchers and Industrial and Leisure.
Parents will have time to buy the new uniform so pupils may wear their existing uniforms during the next year.
Coats will be non uniform but will not be allowed to be worn around the School.
Year 8 parents will also be receiving a letter of information.

Year 9 pupils entering Year 10 will have new courses – some subjects may want reference – Teachers should liaise and advise.
Mr. Northrop stated that some subjects, Science in particular, started a new years’ work at the end of the previous year so perhaps some of this work would be relevant.
Jarrod asked what might happen to all the displays in the corridors at this school.
Miss. Tetlaw replied that usually there are new displays each year – but maybe some outstanding pieces of work would be appropriate to go on display in the new school.
It would be nice to have a mix of photographs/newspaper articles on display in the new school from each of the 3 schools ( St. Peter Port, Oakvale and St. Sampson’s).

English, Maths and Science have 6 rooms each – Art has 2 rooms.
The sports facilities are outstanding – there is a large sports hall (the size of 4 badminton courts) and a separate gym/dance studio/exam room – a climbing wall – a 6-lane swimming pool – 2 football pitches outside – play area for netball etc. – an astroturf pitch (for hockey). There will be lots of community use of these facilities.
There is a covered courtyard area (ETFA).
